Today was our first worship at Goldenmile! To celebrate the occasion, many people cooked loads of DELICIOUS food! Yummy! There were SOOOOOOOO many leftovers. Plastic box after plastic box had to be packed and given to aunties to take home. MAN. And Uncle JK especially bought a huge suckling pig. Delicious!
I wasn’t there for the actual worship itself (exam!) but I heard that it was pretty good. When I got there, there were still so many people milling around! Eating, chatting, watching a show, playing board games and just bonding. It was really great to see everyone fitting into the new place with such ease.
Today was not only the first worship at our new premises, but also the Sunday right after Children’s Day! We’ve had the tradition of wearing our school uniforms to church on this Sunday for the past 2 years, and i think we’ll be carrying it on through the generations! If it’s one thing we love to do in church (other than worship God and SING!), it’s DRESSING UP!
In 2006 and 2007, we all wore our school uniforms only. But this year, we wanted to make it a bit different. People could wear their school uniforms and / or their home clothes, as long as they looked preppy or nerdy or geeky.

I know, there aren’t many pictures of everyone! If you must know, it’s because I’m usually the photographer but today I was late! So I only caught a few people who were still there. Sherilyn and Renee left early! How sad. I really wanted to see their outfits. Oh well. There’s always next year!!
Talking about dressing up makes me want to have regular dress up Sundays. Like maybe the first Sunday of every month. That’d be so fun! Birthday celebrations + dressing up. I shall think about it!
Good night. It was a really fun day. Can’t wait for next week! And soon, our Saturday parties shall resume because EXAMS WILL BE OVER!!! YEAHH!

Faith, you don’t look geeky : ) I forgive you though. You all look so very nerdy and “special”…especially Cons : ) The pig is a little weird to me though…
Haha it’s kind of like a Chinese tradition.. Like when you have a new house, or building, there’s a pig for good luck? I think.
But we don’t need good luck, I think we had it just to be a bit traditional and to EAT IT ALL UP YUM YUM!
Oh and I’m supposed to be ‘preppy’ but okay I didn’t do that too well either. HAHA
